Extension & Attic Conversion in Belfast

I was delighted to be asked to provide design proposals for this large detached house in Belfast. Having just bought the house my Client's wanted an extension and attic conversion. The results will make it a stunning new family home... Hope you will like it also!

Existing and proposed plans

How many differences can you spot between the existing ground floor plan and the proposed? Firstly they asked for a new large open plan family space with a stove in the sitting area, kitchen / island unit and Dining area fully glazed overlooking the rear landscaped gardens. A downstairs shower room with WC and Utility room incorporated into the space of the original breakfast room. Exactly what they needed.

Extension to a dwelling

On the first floor the extension allowed me to provide a spacious En-suite Master Bedroom with a Juliet Balcony to view the gardens, and a walk-in dressing room. The original walk-in wardrobe converted into an en-suite for the new second Bedroom. Inside the extension a new bathroom and linen cupboard also provided.

Attic conversion

An attic conversion allowed me to provide a six double bedroom home with new dormer windows and a shower room adjacent to serve Bedrooms 5 and 6.

Existing and proposed rear elevations

Trust you like the change the proposals made to the original unattractive rear elevation!? The extension dining space on the ground floor now fully glazed, Juliet balcony above in the Master Bedroom and new dormer windows in the attic to provide so much extra space and new bedrooms.

Existing and proposed side elevations

The proposed side elevation shows the new two storey rear extension, the original return demolished. New windows and rooflights incorporated to flood the rear of the house and new areas with lots of natural daylight. A new chimney built to provide a stove in the family room to enjoy through the winter months.

Trust you like the scheme, Client's were delighted and i was very happy to be asked.

Thanks for taking the time to read my blog, Glenn.
