Alterations

Sometimes extending isn't required and re-modelling an option. Taking down existing internal walls or building new walls. Altering room sizes, installing new door openings and going open-plan to give you the space you need. By turning two smaller rooms into one large room may be all that you need?

With over 35 years experience in Architecture my goal is to take care of all your architectural design requirements, whether you require plans drawn for obtaining planning permission or building control approval. I specialise in residential designs and can help with your alterations. As a qualified member of CIAT I can guarantee you my expertise and a reliable, professional service. Please contact me for advice, no obligation. Thank you, Glenn

Kilmakee Park, Gilnahirk

This was a traditional semi-detached home in Belfast that my client had just bought. A lovely home in a great area but to fully satisfy my client she wanted the downstairs accommodation to be open-plan with the removal of two walls and a new larger Kitchen. This open-plan space is now wonderful with easy access to the garden via the new double glazed sliding doors.

Brownlow Street, Comber

A complete refurbishment of this home, a modernisation which mainly included making the ground floor accommodation open plan living and renewing the narrow staircase. On the first floor the new single flight provided a safer and better landing area to access the bedrooms. The refurbished sunroom provided new glazing, a new pitched room and full ceiling height. All rooms redecorated and a Velux Sun Tunnel added to the new WC / Shower. Check out the Before and After Photos!

The Grand Opera House, Belfast

In 2021 I was appointed to prepare detailed drawings for the refurbishment of the Grand Opera House, it was closed as work being carried out throughout the covid pandemic to refurbish the interior of this historic and much loved theatre.

I was delighted to be involved and spent a few weeks preparing over 80 detailed drawings.

Great that it was officially reopened by Prince Charles following the £12.2million revamp. The Prince of Wales was greeted on stage by legendary pantomime dame May McFettridge and the pair shared a joke. The prince then unveiled a plaque to commemorate his visit and mark the theatre’s official reopening.

I am just delighted to have been trusted and appointed to prepare all the detailed drawings, especially of the four bars

  • Stalls Bar

  • Shakespeare Bar

  • Upper Circle Bar

  • VIP Bar

Also helping with the confectionery counters, reception box office, stalls, toilets, seating, auditorium and foyer.

Loft on the Square, Kings Road

Complete overhaul of an existing coffee shop to provide a new bright space with inclusion of windows to flood the space with natural daylight and a new wood burning stove introduced. New floors, decoration and best of all magnificent food!
