How to extend and modernise a 1960's Bungalow

Here's one of my recent projects, a bungalow in Gilnahirk in need of much attention and a full refurbishment including heating, plumbing, electrical, and insulation. In reality, a gut-out is needed to bring this home into modern times while retaining the original features.

I'm happy to announce that a Planning Application has been submitted. The next step involves me preparing construction drawings and submitting a Building Control Application.

My clients wish-list extending was as follows:

Ground Floor

  • Rear single storey extension to provide a new Family Room incorporating the kitchen with island, seating and dining areas with views over the gardens.

  • Lots of natural daylight, bright and spacious.

  • Provision of a master bedroom with ensuite.

  • Downstairs WC

  • Utility Room separate from the Kitchen

First Floor

  • Provision of a W/C shower room with new Rear Dormer

  • Renew and modernise the front dormer.
